“BRACING FOR TOMORROW”
Someone once said that time was the best teacher; that with time, wisdom usually followed. Do you ever wonder, what defines time according to existence? What does it mean? Why are we bound by it and why can’t we experience one without the other? Is time responsible for healing, for doing, for creating and changing, or are we? Could it be that we’ve had it wrong all along? Or does time really pave the way directly into wisdom?
Is time simply the existence and accumulation of events? Events that become clusters of memories? The same memories that bring us to gain wisdom? What happens to those memories when there is no one left to revisit them? Does time ever become an urgent factor when you realize that though we have time, time is the one thing we cannot count on?
The questions, the assumptions and possibilities could be infinite and never-ending if you ask me. But today is not about me. I want to redirect the focus on you… Are you with me?
You see, for the most part and in most cases, we could safely say that these questions are not ones we like to ask ourselves. We live as though we are never going to expire and though death is not something we like to think of, it is the one certain destination where we are all headed…
What I am trying to do hear is not to instill fear; to the contrary. I encourage you to give this some thought.
Many times, the reason why we become complacent isn’t because we lack motivation, it is because we fail to realize the urgency that time holds. Like I mentioned before, we live as though we are never going to leave this world, only to leave, having never truly lived life entirely.
Though we do not fully understand the urgency that time holds, (or maybe it’s our own perception that confuses us or dilutes the significance of time) we do however understand, that time is of the essence. That life is but a flash in time, that our personal existence is limited here on earth.
Between the world that we live in and the world that we hope for, many dreams are lost. It is a constant battle that many lose.
Will you be just another statistic? Will all your dreams and aspirations go with you to the grave? Or will you take the road less traveled? Will you dare to dream a little bigger? Will you dare to explore the possibilities?
Time, wisdom, trials, dreams and memories. Are they not all just a sum of events that we contribute to life? Each one a beautiful miracle if you ask me. If today had been your last day lived? Would you have any regrets?
May this day be, to each their own; a miracle in itself. An opportunity to live, not simply exist. May today be the beginning that marks the rest of your life. Not because I insinuate that it should, but because you realize that a lifetime no matter how extensive or how limited, it is one that is not promised. Finally, may your heart experience awakening, love, hope and may it most certainly acquire wisdom without ceasing. After all, isn’t that God’s gift to us?
